EAGDIS Training Workshop for Project Change Ambassadors

EWEF, with funding support from AWDF, organized a  capacity building workshop in Konongo on Tuesday March 26, 2024 for its Project Staff and selected Change Ambassadors on the Empowering Adolescent Girls-with-Disability for Improved SRH Services (EAGDIS) Project.

The Capacity Building Workshop aimed to equip project staff and Change Ambassadors with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively empower adolescent girls with disabilities on their sexual and reproductive health (SRH) rights and needs.

Facilitators led discussions and presentations on the sexual and reproductive health challenges faced by adolescents with disabilities, cervical cancer awareness and education as well as the barriers and misconceptions surrounding access to the needs of girls living with disability.
ambassadors were educated on the communication techniques to employ for girls with different disabilities, including visual aids, plain language, and alternative communication methods.

Ambassadors developed action plans containing specific steps to implement lessons learned in their respective roles.

Feedbacks from participants showed that the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for project staff and Change Ambassadors to deepen their knowledge and skills in empowering adolescent girls with disabilities on SRH issues.

The project is set to take meaningful steps in promoting the rights and well-being of adolescent girls living with disability. EWEF is committed with you to ensuring that girls living with and without disabilities are given access to services and education to empower them for a brighter future
